Saltery Adventures Policies

In Alaska, specifically in Kodiak, weather is unpredictable at best and can prevent scheduled arrival and departures to and from the island. It is HIGHLY recommended when booking your airfare, that you add an extra day or two in Kodiak on either side of your Saltery Adventures trip, and purchase trip protection insurance for your reservation and travel plans. We do not offer refunds for trips missed due to weather, flight delays or flight cancellations. We will try and accommodate you and the weather to the best of our ability; however, no guarantees can be made outside of your scheduled reservation. Your guide wants to ensure that your trip is enjoyable while still being safe so all excursions will be based on his best judgement.

Reservations may be made any time after January 1 of the current year. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required in order to secure your trip date(s). The balance of your invoice is due 45 days prior to your trip date. If booking less than 45 days before your scheduled trip date, full payment of your invoice will be due upon receipt.

Payment is made through Quick Books ACH. Should you prefer to pay via credit card, please contact our office. A 3% convenience fee will be added to your invoice to accommodate this request.

Reservations are 100% transferrable to future available dates in the same calendar year if notice is given 45 days in advance of your scheduled reservation. A full refund will be given (minus convenience fees) if you are able to find a group of the same size willing to replace your trip for the same scheduled time frame. We will do our best to reschedule you if there is availability in the same calendar year. Please note that we do not offer refunds for cancellations- including but not limited to Covid-19 or its variants, weather, or delayed flights. Again, we highly recommend purchasing trip protection insurance.

If you are wanting to ride your own 4-wheeler you can request to do so with an upcharge of $200 per four-wheeler. If there is not a four-wheeler available for your excursion the $200 will be refunded. This will all be determined closer to your trip date. The rider is 100% responsible for any damages outside normal wear and tear. Excursions will begin and end at the American River parking lot. Transportation to and from the American River from town is your responsibility. Please inquire if you need us to help you arrange transportation as we’re happy to help! We will contact you the night before your trip to let you know when to meet us at the parking lot. The time changes based on staff scheduling, weather, and your needs but generally we start between 7am-9am and return late afternoon.)

Cleaning & Processing of fish for day trips will be done by Island Seafoods at your expense. Rates vary based on how you’d like your seafood processed and the length of time it’s being stored. For overnight trips, fish will be processed by our staff with the help of the guest(s) and put into a freezer.

Payment will be considered acceptance terms and policy.

TRIP PROTECTION INSURANCE

Travel suppliers, airline carriers, and travel agencies do not compensate any of your unforeseen expenses in the event of cancellation or failure to make your trip (missed flights etc.) There are many great travel insurance companies offering a variety of coverage. Do your research! For the convenience of our customers, we’ve partnered with Insure My Trip. Policies offered by Insure My Trip can be viewed and purchased directly from their website: www.insuremytrip.com should you choose to do so. You can also call 1-800-487-4722 and mention “Saltery Adventures.” We STRONGLY advise you to exercise due diligence with all your insurance options before choosing a policy to ensure the policy will meet your individual needs. Saltery Adventures and its agents/employees make no claims or warranties of any kind regarding what aspects of your trip Insure My Trip will or will not cover as each policy is unique. Saltery Adventures agents/employees will not answer questions regarding policy coverage. Any travel insurance related questions will need to be directed to the travel insurance company that you’ve chosen.
