All Adventures need guidelines
The weather in Kodiak, Alaska, is known for its unpredictability, which can significantly affect the timing of arrivals and departures to the island. As such, we HIGHLY recommend that travelers plan their trips with flexibility in mind. For smoother travel experience, consider allocating two additional days in Kodiak both before and after your Saltery Adventures excursion. Additionally, purchasing trip protection insurance is strongly advised to protect your reservation and travel plans from unforeseen disruptions.
Saltery Adventures does not offer refunds for trips missed due to adverse weather conditions, flight delays, or flight cancellations, unless Saltery Adventures itself cancels your trip due to weather. In such cases, a refund will be issued. Although we strive to accommodate guests and adapt to changing weather circumstances, we cannot guarantee changes outside your scheduled reservation. Your guide will always prioritize your safety and enjoyment, making decisions about excursions based on their expertise and judgment.

Ocean Charter Halibut Stamp Requirements
Beginning January 1, 2026, any guest age 18 or older who would like to catch and keep halibut while fishing on our ocean charter during their excursion will be required to have a Charter Halibut Stamp for each calendar day they intend to fish for halibut. The current cost is $20 per person, per day, and the stamp must be secured before the trip begins.
If you would like to fish for halibut during your excursion, please let Saltery Adventures know as soon as possible so we can secure the required stamp(s) for you in advance. Because these stamps must be obtained prior to the start of your charter, we may not be able to accommodate halibut retention requests that are made at the last minute or after the trip has already begun.
This requirement applies to guided halibut fishing in IPHC Regulatory Area 3A, which includes Kodiak and other Southcentral Alaska ports. Our guide will validate the electronic stamp before fishing begins in accordance with current charter halibut regulations.
Day Trip Lunches
Saltery Adventures provides lunch for guests participating in single day river fishing trips and sightseeing trips. We are pleased to include lunch as part of these excursions to help make your day more convenient and enjoyable.
If you have food allergies or significant dietary restrictions, you will need to bring your own lunch. Because meals prepared by third parties may not always be made to the requested specifications, we are unable to assume liability for allergen exposure or related risks and therefore cannot provide allergy-sensitive meals.
Guests with food allergies are encouraged to plan-ahead and bring any meals or snacks they know are safe and appropriate for their needs.
